LibreTexts Partner Heads to Washington, D.C.

Professor Layne Morsch from the University of Illinois Springfield recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with Senator Dick Durbin and the U.S. Department of Education during Open Education Week 2019. There to discuss his partnership with LibreTexts as part of the Open Textbooks Pilot grant, Morsch stated, "To me, it is an issue of social justice. [...] Students with less financial resources shouldn’t be disadvantaged by not having the same textbooks that other students can afford to buy. Before I switched to open educational resources, my organic chemistry textbook cost around $300, now that I use LibreTexts it’s free.” Read the article from UIS news here.
