The Affordable College Textbook Act behind the $5 million grant LibreTexts received in fall of 2018 has been reintroduced in Congress by Senators Dick Drubin (D-IL), Tina Smith (D-MN), Angus King (I-ME), and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Representative Joe Neguse (D-CO). Aimed at reducing the increasing cost of textbooks for students, the bill aims to promote and spread the use of open educational resources (OER).
